LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (October 10, 1996) DisInformation, the controversial subculture search engine and Web 'zine (http://www.disinfo.com) has endorsed Mondo 2000 magazine editor and all-around media prankster, R.U. Sirius, for President in the upcoming election. Until Election Day, DisInformation will feature several links about the Sirius candidacy, including a link to his "official" website, The Mutate Project: Mutate and Take Over the World at http://www.onworld.com/MUT/der96/. Richard Metzger, DisInformation's creative director says, "I really could care less who wins the election since Clinton and Dole are speaking out of opposite sides of the same mouth. We're endorsing R.U. for the simple reason that if all of the stray write-in votes for Mickey Mouse or Zippy the Pinhead were instead cast for R.U. Sirius, at least there would be ONE interesting story the day after the election!" R.U. Sirius says of the endorsement, "I have as much chance of winning this election as Bob Dole."
