ENGAGE BROADENS REACH WITH COMPUSERVE

IRVINE, CALIF. (January 22, 1997) -- ENGAGE Games Online today announced a deal with CompuServe Interactive (CSi), which makes the new online game community available on the three leading commercial online services as well as the Internet. ENGAGE will begin delivering its high-end multi-player games and online entertainment content to CSi's more than three million members in early 1997. Among the initial offerings will be Interplay's Descent Online and Castles II as well as online exclusive originals from Interworld, Rolemaster: Magestorm and Splatterball. ENGAGE has already announced deals with AOL, Prodigy and Internet providers Concentric Network and Earthlink Network. Other deals are also soon to be announced.

"Our relationship with CompuServe marks another step toward our effort to make ENGAGE accessible regardless of how or where you enter Cyberspace," said ENGAGE president Jeff Leibowitz. "We're excited about the many strategic possibilities which working with CompuServe represents and look forward to bringing ENGAGE games to their millions of members."

"We are excited to offer CompuServe customers some cool games from ENGAGE," said Srini Vasan, director of games. "This strategic partnership marks another milestone in our games content offering to our valued customers."

ENGAGE recently announced its beta testing phase on America Online and the Internet, allowing die-hard game fans a first look at such hits as Descent Online, Castles II and Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness as well as online original exclusives Rolemaster: Magestorm and Splatterball. When ENGAGE launches its full service on March 15, it will feature an impressive array of high-end multi-player games as well as some less intense fare for non-gamer members of the family. ENGAGE will offer several games at launch and then plans to add one or two additional games each month.

Users will access ENGAGE games and other entertainment content through a consistent and intuitive Windows 95-based graphically rich, animated 2D or 3D interface, regardless of whether they access ENGAGE from an online service or an Internet Service Provider. In addition, chat areas, bulletin boards and other service areas will be accessible through the graphical front end. ENGAGE can be located on the Web at http://www.engagegames.com.
