SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (April 17, 1997) -- Over 200 leading vendors of game development technology await attendees when the Computer Game Developers' Conference kicks off at the Santa Clara Convention Center on April 27. More product announcements are expected at the show, but emerging technologies aren't the only new things to check out at CGDC. Some highlights include:
The first ever CGDC/TEN Quake Tournament happens on Monday April 28, from 6-7:30 at the TEN booth (#402) with technology provided by Intel.
In addition, Intel will be showing the Game Platform for 1998, based on Intel Architecture, including MMX(TM) technology, technology demonstrations of the Pentium(R) II processor and the PC Theater for the home. Look for other exciting announcements about Intel's role in the game development community during the show.
Learning new tools is a strong focus for CGDC and, at a new one-day tutorial "Using DeBabelizer for Processing Video Game Graphics" on Saturday April 26, from 10-6 p.m., game developers can learn how to save hundreds of hours of manual graphics manipulation.
CGDC again includes its most popular features such as Hospitality Suite Night, and the highly competitive Job Fair. New this year, check out the new CGDC exhibits-only pass to see an exhibit hall that's doubled in size from last year.
