NBC AND WARNER BROS. ONLINE TO CO-PRODUCE
LIVE "ER" SEASON-PREMIERE CYBERCAST

Burbank, CA - Sept. 29, 97 - Warner Bros. Online & NBC -- working together online for the first time -- experienced record breaking attendance of the live backstage TV Internet broadcast of the season premiere of "ER," transporting Internet users to the pre-show happenings and to the most exclusive post-show party ever.

Audiences watching the backstage action on the Internet were able to see and hear live interviews with such series regulars as Anthony Edwards, George Clooney, and many other cast members during a post-show video session which also featured Steven Spielberg, NBC Entertainment President Warren Littlefield and "ER" Executive Producer John Wells.

Jointly crafted by NBC and Warner Bros. Online, the ERLive.com project on the Internet was incredibly popular hosting almost 2 million-page views of chat, trivia games, 3-D set tours and other robust content, on premier day. Users requested and received over 60,000 ERLive.com streaming video feeds of pre- and post-show coverage of this groundbreaking event, originating live from behind the scenes of "ER's" live on-air season premier.

In a unique merging of television and Internet technologies, the Web event's other features, such as ERLive.com's Talk City chat rooms broke all records for the chat service provider, logging 293,950 chat minutes while watching exclusive streaming video feeds of the action. East Coast viewers were able to convey their excitement in the chat rooms to West Coast viewers, who connected early to find out what was happening with the cutting-edge live broadcast of the ER's season premier.

ERLive.com users experienced first-hand the initial reactions of the cast and crew when NBC reporter Sara Edwards interviewed them live at the completion of both the East and West Coast broadcasts. The Web site also featured a multi-player "E.R." trivia game show presented by the NTN Network, a three-dimensional tour of the set as well as up-to-the-minute news updates.

Warner Bros. Online and NBC exclusive behind-the-scenes footage that was cybercast before and between shows is available online for other Internet users to see what they missed -- giving a larger audience the experience of what it was like backstage at this major television event.

The ERLive.com project is accessible at http://www.ERLive.com and via links from NBC.com. and Warner Bros.com. Warner Bros. Online also drove traffic to the site through a specially created "ER" area on America Online (AOL Keyword "ER"). The Web project and ERLive chat rooms will remain live through early October.

The site is co-sponsored by Pepcid AC and Discover Card and also features cutting-edge technology from a host of technology partners including Vxtreme, GlobalCenter, Sun Microsystems, Progressive Networks RealVideo, F5 Labs and Talk City.

The live season premiere episode of "ER," titled "Ambush," detailed a documentary film crew's visit to the ER to record the daily lives of the doctors, nurses and patients. "ER," the 1996 Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Drama Series, is a production of Constant c Productions and Amblin Television, in association with Warner Bros. Television. John Wells, Michael Crichton, Lydia Woodward and Carol Flint are executive producers.
