FEATURECAST NAMES SCOTT KRAMER AS PRESIDENT & CEO PASADENA, CALIF. (June 26, 1998) -- FeatureCast, an idealab! company and leading syndicator on the Web, has named Scott Kramer as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Kramer will oversee the build-out of the Company’s syndication network, and the development and acquisition of content. Kramer brings to FeatureCast over a decade of high-level media experience, from award-winning advertising agency work to radio, newspaper, and magazine publishing, developing new revenue streams and managing brand extensions including new media. We were thrilled to able to find someone with Scott’s talent, knowledge and background, says Bill Gross, ideally! founder and FeatureCast Chairman. Scott is well-known as a leader in entertainment, publishing and new media circles, and we have full confidence that his abilities will catapult FeatureCast into the forefront of new media companies. As the new President and CEO, Kramer will manage offices in both New York and Los Angeles. This is a great opportunity for me to apply my varied traditional media experience to new media syndication which is a space that has yet to be defined, said Kramer upon his appointment. As the President of BUZZ Inc. (beginning in May 1996), Kramer successfully built Buzz Magazine to become the fastest-growing regional magazine in the country, in terms of circulation growth, as well as one of the top regional magazines in revenue growth and ad pages. Kramer developed new divisions including Buzz Books, Buzz Online (voted top 100 sites by Net Magazine) and Buzz Weekly. Earlier this year, Buzz Magazine was also awarded Best City Publication and Best Overall Consumer Publication by the Western Publishers Association. Most recently BUZZ was sold to Fairchild Publications, a publishing division of Disney which owns the rival Los Angeles Magazine. Kramer’s previous positions included Director of Marketing for LOS ANGELES MAGAZINE (overseeing overall strategic sales and marketing efforts) and Promotions and Merchandising Account Manager for the LOS ANGELES TIMES (responsible for brand management of TimesLink online service, Times On Demand, custom publishing and Times brand awareness campaigns). He previously worked at WMT Advertising and at Group W/WMAQ Radio in Chicago. FeatureCast, Inc. is the new media company resulting from the recent merger of two online entities: E-Ticket, Inc., the brand licensing content publisher from idealab!, and Real Time Syndication Network (RTSN), the leading distributor of online syndicated packages. In addition to idealab!, investors include The Nederlander Organization, Broderbund, Digital Media Capital LLC, Labrador Ventures and Logitech founder Pierluigi Zappacosta. |
