"VERY BAD THINGS" WEB SITE ON FRIDAY THE 13TH HOLLYWOOD, November 13, 1998 -- PolyGram Films today officially launched the savagely funny motion picture web site -- www.verybadthings.com -- on Friday the 13th, it was announced today by Peter Graves, president of marketing for PolyGram Films. The Very Bad Things MessageMateÔ, an Emailable stripper greeting, is available beginning today via www.verybadthings.com and http://www.messagemates.com. The web site and Emailable stripper will generate interest in Peter Berg's eagerly-anticipated "Very Bad Things," starring Christian Slater, Cameron Diaz, Daniel Stern, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Jon Favreau, Jeremy Piven and Leland Orser in the comedy about five young men who turn on each other after a bachelor party goes horribly wrong. The web site lets Internet explorers participate in a virtual bachelor party, play games involving dismembered body parts, and even post the very bad things they've done, seen or heard on an online bulletin board. "Friday the 13th is a day synonymous with bad luck," said Graves. "Since the movie 'Very Bad Things' is a savage comedy presenting the ill fortunes that befall its characters after a bachelor party goes horribly wrong, Friday the 13th is the perfect day to launch one of the most savagely funny web sites ever created for a motion picture. It's also an ideal day to Email a stripper to a friend or acquaintance." www.verybadthings.com tours explorers through "Mind over Matter," a "Concentration"-like game in which players match images from the movie; "Very Worst Things," an online bulletin board where visitors post controversial details of the very bad things they've done or seen; "Virtual Bachelor Party," in which scenes from the movie unfold as a stripper does some very bad things; and "Success," in which players race to place body parts in graves as Christian Slater's character supplies helpful tips. www.verybadthings.com was created by Canned Interactive, creator of many other high-profile web sites for motion pictures, including "Rush Hour" and "The Wedding Singer."
