SEEK HOTTEST DIGITAL MEDIA PROJECTS ON THE PLANET San Mateo, Calif. (June 22, 1999) - NewMedia magazine is seeking the best digital media projects on the planet for the seventh annual NewMedia INVISION Awards program. Call for entries are open through August 6 and additional information is available online at http://www.newmedia.com/invision. The NewMedia INVISION Awards recognize creative and technical excellence in digital media content, including Web sites, titles, and custom applications, in 65 categories that cover entertainment, education, information, business, marketing and sales, personal/non-profit, and creative and technical excellence. Introduced in 1993, the annual NewMedia INVISION Awards is the world's largest digital media content competition in the world. The annual NewMedia INVISION Awards is part of the NewMedia INVISION Festival, a three-day forum to celebrate, stimulate, and cultivate excellence in digital media and its real-world applications. The Festival takes place November 10-12 in San Francisco and includes the INSIGHT Conference for digital media professionals, the PlayLand Gallery, where a selection of INVISION Award winners showcase their winning projects, and the INVISION Awards gala, where 65 Gold award winners will be announced, and 14 projects will be presented with the prestigious INVISION Award of Excellence. Projects will be evaluated by creative, business, high technology, and digital media experts, based on creative excellence, technical innovation, interface design, effectiveness of communication, and overall aesthetics. In 1998, judges reviewed more than 1,000 entries from around the world. NewMedia INVISION 98 Award winners include "HotBot," produced by Wired Digital; "The Apple Store," produced by Adjacency; "The X-Files Game," produced by HyperBole Studios; "Investor," produced by Microsoft; "ODE Architect," produced by IntelliPro; "Red Sky on the Frontier," produced by Red Sky Interactive; "Discovery Online 'Live From The Titanic' Screen Saver,” produced by the New Media Group; and "Nagano Olympic Winter Games Web Site," produced by Studio Archetype.
